Things You Never Knew About Salt

September 26, 2017

Did you know that salt has more functions than just for seasoning?

Here are five things you can do with salt.

Extend cheese life – by wrapping it in a cloth soaked in salt water before storing in the refrigerator.

Fresher look – make your fresh cut flower last longer in the vase by adding a pinch of salt in the water

Remove perspiration stains – Just dissolve 4 tablespoons of salt in 1 litre of hot water and sponge the garment until the stain disappears. Salt, the secret to getting rid of those stubborn yellow perspiration stains on shirts.

End the Ant Parade – ants can be annoying, if you find them beating a path to your home, sprinkle salt across the door frame or directly on their paths. This will prevent them crossing this barrier.

Erase tea and coffee - Easily scrub away those stains on the cups and in pots by sprinkling salt onto a sponge and rubbing a little across the ring. If the stains persist, mix white vinegar with salt in equal proportions and rub again with sponge.
