Ingredients:

 

For the Sweet Potato Base:

- 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 4-5 medium sweet potatoes)

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

- 1/4 cup milk

- 2 large eggs

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

- A pinch of salt

 

For the Pecan Topping:

- 1 cup chopped pecans

- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together all the sweet potato base ingredients until well combined. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the pecans, flour, brown sugar, and melted butter to create the topping. Sprinkle this mixture over the sweet potato base.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  5. Allow the casserole to cool slightly before serving.
