Healthy Eggs

May 27, 2014

Eggs have long been accused of contributing to increased blood and cholesterol levels and heart problems due to their cholesterol level. However, research on dietary cholesterol intake published by Advances in Nutrition indicated no substantiated link between consumption of eggs and increase in cardiovascular disease.

In fact, eating eggs in the morning can help you lose weight. This is because they’re loaded with proteins and they’ll keep you feeling fuller longer than carbs.

The healthiest way to cook eggs is to poach them. Poaching eggs result in lower calories than scrambled, baked or fried eggs as the latter require butter, milk and oil in the recipe. In addition, the boiling process used to poach eggs means that the eggs are cooked at lower temperatures. Higher temperature cooking (like frying or baking) lead to toxins being produced and these toxins stick to body tissues, causing inflammation, then leading to heart diseases and diabetes.

So the next time you decide on eating eggs, do consider poaching them.

The easiest and most efficient way to poach eggs is to use an egg poacher like the Mermaid 4-Cup Egg Poacher With Cover.
